Privacy notice
This is a free tool for exploring careers. It has no accounts, no advertising and no cookies. This page says exactly what happens to what you enter.
Last updated October 24, 2026. Run by the PathMosaic team. Questions: hello@pathmosaic.com.
If you upload or paste a resume
- Its text is sent to Cerebras, an AI provider, which reads it into the fields you then check. Cerebras's terms say it keeps what it is sent only as long as needed to provide its service.
- An uploaded file is deleted as soon as its text has been read, within the same request. We do not save the file or its text.
- If you choose to have us look for skills in your job descriptions, the text is sent to Cerebras a second time, for that one reading.
Your profile and report
- Your profile exists only in the page open in your browser. We do not store it, and closing the page discards it.
- The report is built on our server from public data tables and then sent back to you. We do not keep a copy.
- Entering your details by hand, instead of uploading, sends nothing to any AI provider.
What we do keep
- Usage counts. Reading resumes costs money, so we count how many times the AI reader is used each day, and how many words it processed. These counts contain nothing from any resume.
- Visit counts. To see whether the site is useful, we count which pages are visited, which steps are completed (for example, that a report was built), which buttons are used on a career card (such as Download images), how far down a card people read and which abbreviations they look up, with the date, the site version, whether it was a phone or a computer, and where the visit came from: a short tag on links we post (such as
?ref=reddit) or, if your browser shares it, the name of the site that linked here (such as reddit.com), never the full address of the page. A visit is marked only with the same daily-changing code described below, so visits can't be linked from one day to the next. No cookie is used for this, and nothing from your resume or profile is recorded. These counts are kept for up to 13 months. - Feedback you choose to give. If you send feedback (a 1 to 5 rating and, if you like, a comment), we keep it with the page it came from, the date, the site version, whether it was a phone or a computer, and the day's visitor code described below, for up to 13 months. Please don't include your name or contact details in comments.
- A daily limit per visitor. To stop one visitor using up the day's allowance, each visitor can have the AI reader read a resume a limited number of times a day. To count this, a visitor is identified only by a code made from their internet (IP) address with a secret key. The code changes every day, can't be traced back to the address without that key, and we don't attempt to. We don't store the address itself. The counts for this limit are deleted after two days; the same day's code is also what marks visit counts and feedback above, which are kept for up to 13 months. The same code is also used, in memory only and for a few minutes, to slow down anyone opening dozens of career cards a minute, which is how automated copying of the site looks.
Links to job postings and training
"See current job postings" opens CareerOneStop, a job search site sponsored by the U.S. Department of Labor, in a new tab. The link carries only the occupation's public code (for example 29-1141.00 for registered nurses), nothing about you. What happens on that site is covered by its own privacy policy.
The Certification, Training and License Finder links work the same way: they open CareerOneStop with only the occupation's code. The Apprenticeship Finder link opens Apprenticeship.gov (also the U.S. Department of Labor) and sends nothing at all.
Career cards and sharing
- Each occupation has a public career card, a page and an image anyone can open, so that link previews on sites like LinkedIn can show it. A card shows only published figures for that occupation. It contains nothing from your resume, profile or answers, and its address carries only the occupation's public code.
- "Share on LinkedIn" opens LinkedIn in a new tab and sends it only the card's address. Nothing is posted unless you post it yourself, and what happens on LinkedIn is covered by its own privacy policy. Downloading the images, printing the card or copying its link sends nothing about you anywhere. On a phone, "Save or share both" fetches the two pictures from this site and hands them to your phone's own share sheet; where they go from there is your choice.
- If you pick a state on a career card's map, the state is added to the page's address (for example
?state=CA), so a link you copy from that page includes it. Nothing is sent when you pick it.
Our hosting provider
The site runs on Render, a hosting company in the United States. Like any web host, Render keeps short-lived technical logs of requests, including IP addresses and the address of each page requested, which can include a job title you searched for or a state you picked, to run and secure its service. We use those logs only to fix problems, never to identify visitors.
Students and younger visitors
The student path asks about interests and plans, not your name, age or school, and it does not need a resume. If you are under 18, talk with a parent or guardian before uploading a resume. This site is not meant for children under 13.
What we never do
We do not sell or share what you enter, use it for advertising, or use it to train AI models.
Changes
If this notice changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date.
